Knee injuries are the most common type of injury. Commonly, caused by force to the knee, or a direct hit, such as from sports, falls, or accidents. Types of common knee injuries include sprains, strains, meniscus tears, bursitis, dislocations, fractures and overuse from exercise. Being overweight can increase the risk for a knee injury, as excess weight puts more pressure on the lower extremity joints.
